The protection scheme comprises the steps of starting protection when it is determined that a traction network line meets action conditions; acquiring fault current signals of four acquisition points M, N, a and b under the condition of meeting the starting protection; performing empirical wavelet transform on the fault current signals of the acquisition points to obtain high-frequency energy of M, a, N and b points; and determining internal and external faults according to the high-frequency energy ratio of the points M and a and the high-frequency energy ratio of the points N and b.
