Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to an increased usable instrument life for a telesurgical system. A telesurgical system operates in a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. In a first operating mode, the movable component is driven within a first range of operating parameters. In a second operating mode, the movable component is driven in a second range of operating parameters that is less than the first range. As a result of operating within the second range, the useful life of the instrument is extended by reducing mechanical degradation of the movable part.
