Controlling gradient noise in magnetic resonance imaging

A method of determining a scan sequence for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is provided. The method comprises: receiving an indication of one or more selected imaging parameters for the MRI; and based on the selected imaging parameters, determining the scan sequence usable by an MRI device to perform the MRI, where determining the scan sequence includes configuring the scan sequence to modulate gradient noise generated by the MRI device during the MRI to deliver a first auditory signal to the patient, where the first auditory signal is transmitted by the MRI device during the MRI.
