The invention provides a charger and a control circuit thereof. The control circuit used in the charger is configured to detect whether the charging male joint interface is disconnected with the to-be-charged equipment or not under the condition that the charging male joint interface is connected with the to-be-charged equipment through the charging female joint interface; and when the charging male head interface is disconnected with the to-be-charged equipment, reducing the charging voltage provided by the charger at the charging pin of the charging male head interface. According to the control circuit used in the charger provided by the embodiment of the invention, the charging male head interface and the charging female head interface can be prevented from generating electric arcs during hot plugging of the interfaces, so that a connecting part of the charging male head interface and the charging female head interface can be prevented from being melted or burnt down during hot plugging of the interfaces.
