An augmented reality apparatus and an augmented reality method for detecting a gaze of a user are provided. The augmented reality device includes: a light guide plate; a light reflecting portion including a pattern; a support portion for fixing the augmented reality device to a face of a user of the augmented reality device; a light emitting portion and a light receiving portion mounted to the support portion; and at least one processor in which: the processor controls the light emitting portion to emit light to the light reflecting portion, identifies a pattern based on the light received by the light receiving portion, and obtains gaze information of a user of the augmented reality device based on the identified pattern; the light emitted to the light reflecting part is reflected by the light reflecting part and then is guided to the eyes of a user; and the light received by the light receiving portion includes light that has been directed to and then reflected by the eyes of the user. 提供了一种用于检测用户凝视的增强现实设备和
