Predicting future laboratory performance

A computer-implemented method of predicting future laboratory performance of a laboratory system is presented. The laboratory system includes a plurality of laboratory instruments configured to test a laboratory test sample, laboratory middleware, a control unit, and a dashboard display communicatively connected via a network communication connection. The method comprises: providing laboratory operator preferences and laboratory limitations from a laboratory operator to an optimization module of the control unit; the optimization module provides laboratory input data and order data to the control unit; optimizing a laboratory configuration at the optimization module of the control unit based on the laboratory operator preferences, laboratory restrictions, laboratory inputs, and order data; simulating, by a simulation module of the control unit, future laboratory performance of the laboratory system based on the optimized laboratory configuration and real-time laboratory input and order data provided by the op
