A fuel vapor emission control system (200) for a motor vehicle has: a fuel tank (210); a fuel inlet assembly (220) having a fuel inlet opening (222) for providing fuel to the fuel tank (210) and a fuel inlet conduit (224) for connecting the fuel inlet opening (222) with the fuel tank (210). The fuel vapor emissions control system (200) further has a housing (230) disposed on the fuel inlet conduit (224). The housing (230) has an inlet (232) for receiving fuel vapors from the fuel tank (210), fuel vapor adsorption particles (236) for adsorbing vapors from the fuel tank, and an outlet (234) allowing the adsorbed fuel vapors to exit.
