The composite layer is prepared from, by mass, 9%-11% of cobalt, 3.5%-4.5% of chromium, 0.01%-0.5% of iron and the balance carbon-containing tungsten, and the mass percentage of carbon in the carbon-containing tungsten is 5%-10%. The surface of the water seal shaft sleeve coated with the composite layer has high Vickers hardness, the corrosion resistance and impact resistance of the dredge pump can be effectively improved, the service life of the dredge pump can be effectively prolonged, and normal operation of a water seal system of the dredge pump is guaranteed.
