The invention relates to a polymerization inhibitor for inhibiting polymerization of olefins in a petroleum cracking C5 fraction, in particular to a preparation method of the polymerization inhibitor for inhibiting polymerization of olefins in the petroleum cracking C5 fraction. According to the invention, the polymerization inhibition effect is improved by utilizing the synergistic effect after the 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole diethyl phosphate is compounded with the tert-butylcatechol and the N, N-diethyl hydroxylamine; in addition, 180 # solvent oil and trimethylbenzene are adopted as solvents to respectively dissolve tert-butylcatechol and N, N-diethylhydroxylamine, and ultrasonic cavitation is adopted in the dissolving process to promote dissolving and mixing, so that the catalyst is prepared. Under the ultrasonic action, the two solutions and ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazole diethyl phosphate are subjected to ultrasonic uniform mixing to form the polymerization inhibitor, and the polymerization inhib
