Chemical compositions and methods of treating sulfur-containing compositions and other contaminants in fluids using same

A treatment method for treating contaminants in a mixture of contaminated fluids comprising at least one liquid fluid and at least one gas fluid, the treatment method comprising the steps of preparing a treatment composition comprising at least 80% by volume of an aqueous solution, the aqueous solution contains at least one hydroxide compound at a total concentration of 35-55 wt% of the treatment composition and at least one organic acid at a total concentration of 0.1-5 wt% of the treatment composition, the organic acid being selected from the group consisting of fulvic acid and humic acid; adding a dose of the treatment composition to a mixture of a contaminated fluid comprising a liquid portion and a gas portion; and allowing the treatment composition to react with the mixture of contaminated fluids for at least 10 minutes.
