Depending on the operation, a displacement of the pressure-volume characteristic curve towards a higher pressure may occur in such a booster brake system (10). And if the actual change process of the pressure-volume-characteristic curve deviates from the target change process to reach the degree that the target change process cannot be tolerated any more, correction is needed. For this purpose, a pressure medium volume must be discharged from the brake circuit (18a, 18b) into a reservoir (32) of the booster brake system (10). The invention relates to a method by means of which pressure can be discharged into the reservoir (32) in a controlled manner.
