The invention provides an audio event detection method and device, and the method comprises the steps: determining the audio event information of a target audio signal through employing an audio event detection model, and enabling the audio event information to comprise the event detection information of a plurality of audio segments divided from the target audio signal, the event detection information is used for indicating whether a sub-audio event exists in the audio clip or not and indicating the event type, starting time and ending time of the sub-audio event in the audio clip; then, based on the sequence of the plurality of audio clips and the event types, the starting time and the ending time of the sub-audio events in each target audio clip with the sub-audio events, determining the event types and the starting and ending time of the audio events in the target audio signal; the audio event detection model is obtained by adopting a multi-task learning algorithm to train based on a plurality of audio sa
