The embodiment of the invention provides a service method of a DNS (Domain Name Server) system and a server in the DNS system, and relates to the field of application services, and the method comprises the following steps: a front-end component at a server side receives a request which is sent by a user and is used for carrying out specified operation on a domain name, sending the request for performing the specified operation on the domain name to a back-end component which is arranged asynchronously with the front-end component on the server side; wherein the operation comprises newly adding a domain name, modifying the domain name or deleting the domain name; the back-end component obtains a distributed lock corresponding to the domain name after receiving a request for performing specified operation on the domain name; and under the condition that the distributed lock corresponding to the domain name is obtained, the back-end component responds to the request for carrying out the specified operation on th
