Zusammenfassung: | One embodiment of the present invention provides a positive electrode and a secondary battery having little deterioration due to charge and discharge. The invention provides a positive electrode with high electrode density and a secondary battery. Also provided are a positive electrode and a secondary battery having excellent rate characteristics. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material and a covering material, at least a part of a surface of the positive electrode active material is covered by the covering material, the positive electrode active material includes lithium cobalt oxide containing magnesium, fluorine, aluminum, and nickel, and a surface layer portion of the lithium cobalt oxide includes a region in which the concentration of any one or more selected from the group consisting of magnesium, fluorine, and aluminum is maximum. The covering material is preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of glass, carbon black, graphene, and graphene compounds.
