The engine EGR cooling system comprises an EGR cooler, an EGR valve and a proportional control valve. The air inlet end of the EGR cooler is connected with an exhaust pipe of an engine, the air outlet end of the EGR cooler is connected with the air inlet end of the EGR valve, and the air outlet end of the EGR valve is connected with an air inlet pipe of the engine; the water inlet end of the EGR cooler is connected with one end of the proportional control valve, the other end of the proportional control valve is connected with a water outlet of an engine, and the water outlet end of the EGR cooler is connected with a water inlet of the engine; the engine EGR cooling system provided by the invention is suitable for all engines with EGR cooling, can well control the temperature after EGR cooling, reduce the carbon deposition and gel formation probability of the EGR cooler and prolong the service life of the EGR cooler under variou
