The apparatus comprises: an implantable occlusion device comprising a proximal connecting hub and a radially expandable body configured to radially expand to fluidly occlude the left atrial appendage when deployed from a contracted configuration to a radially expanded configuration; an elongate deployment catheter having a central lumen; an elongate delivery catheter disposed in the central lumen of the elongate deployment catheter and having a distal connecting hub removably attached to a proximal connecting hub of the implantable occlusion device for transluminal delivery of the implantable occlusion device to the left atrial appendage, wherein the elongate deployment catheter is proximally axially movable relative to the elongate delivery catheter to deploy the implantable occlusion device.
