The method comprises the following steps: acquiring motion state information of obstacles in front of a current lane and motion targets in a preset range of a surrounding lane; according to the current motion state information of the vehicle and the motion state information of the obstacle, calculating an emergency danger avoiding route and collision time; according to the collision time, whether a collision risk exists currently is evaluated; when it is evaluated that the collision risk exists at present, whether emergency braking can avoid the collision risk or not is judged; and under the condition that the collision risk cannot be avoided through emergency braking, the vehicle is controlled to automatically steer emergently according to the obstacle and the movement state of the movement target in the preset range of the surrounding lane.
