Zusammenfassung:Provided is a negative electrode for a lithium ion battery capable of improving battery characteristics such as high capacity and cycle characteristics of the battery. The negative electrode mixture has a negative electrode active material, a binder, and a hydrophobized cellulose, and a negative electrode mixture layer (1M) having the negative electrode mixture is configured in the following manner. The negative electrode active material contains nano Si, the binder is an organic solvent-based binder (for example, polyimide or polyvinylidene fluoride), and the hydrophobized cellulose is a substance in which some of the hydrophilic groups of the cellulose are substituted by hydrophobic groups. As such, by using the organic solvent-based binder, the reaction between water and Si can be prevented, and the electrode characteristics can be improved.
