Wherein the heat exchanger (100) is formed from rectangular plates (PL) connected to each other. A channel (K) is formed between the plates (PL). The two heat exchange media (M1, M2) alternately flow through the formed channel (K) via at least one inflow opening and at least one outflow opening. Wherein the plate (PL) has a configuration (PR). A contact site is created between the plates (PL). The plates (PL) are connected to each other at contact points. As a result, a flow path (SP) of the two media (M1, M2) from the respective inflow opening (ZL) to the respective outflow opening is produced. The flow has a main flow direction (HS). The configuration (PR) of the plates (PL) and the contact points (KS) thereof are formed in such a way that the configuration (PR) extends substantially along the main flow direction (HF) of the flow formed between the plates (PL).
