The invention discloses a lanthanum ferrite photocatalytic material, a preparation method thereof and application of the lanthanum ferrite photocatalytic material in high-salt dye wastewater, and belongs to the field of photocatalysis and dye wastewater treatment. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing a mixed aqueous solution of lanthanum nitrate, ferric nitrate, citric acid and glucose to obtain a precursor solution; (2) taking ammonia water as a precipitator, dropwise adding ammonia water into the precursor solution under a stirring condition, and adjusting the pH value to about 9; (3) putting the precursor solution of which the pH value is adjusted into a hydrothermal kettle, and reacting for a period of time at a specific temperature; (4) repeatedly washing the precursor solution after the reaction, and carrying out ultrasonic centrifugation and drying treatment; and (5) calcining the obtained precursor powder in a temperature-controlled muffle furnace at a high temperature.
