Zusammenfassung: | Provided is a method for producing an L-amino acid such as L-glutamic acid. An L-amino acid is produced by culturing a coryneform bacterium having an L-amino acid producing ability, which has been modified so as to have one or more modifications selected from the modifications (A) to (E) described below, in a culture medium, and collecting an L-amino acid from the culture medium and/or the cell of the bacterium: (A) a modification in which the activity of acetokinase is increased; (B) a modification that increases the activity of fructose-1, 6-biphosphatase; (C) a modification in which the activity of pyruvate dehydrogenase is reduced; (D) a modification in which the activity of aspartate transaminase is reduced; and (E) a modification in which the malic enzyme activity is reduced.
