Zusammenfassung: | A system and method for operating an autonomous vehicle (AV) yard truck is provided. The processor facilitates autonomous movement of the AV yard truck and connection and disconnection with the trailer. A plurality of sensors are interconnected with the processor, the sensors sensing terrain/objects and assisting in automatic connection/disconnection with the trailer. A server wirelessly interconnected with the processor tracks the movement of the truck and determines the location of trailer connections and disconnections. The door station unlocks/opens the rear door when adjacent to the rear door of the trailer, and fastens the rear door in the open position via a clamp or the like. The system calculates the height of the trailer, and/or whether the landing gear of the trailer is on the ground and interacts with the fifth wheel to change the height, and whether the docking is safe, thereby allowing the user to take manual control and optimal charging time.
