Compositions comprising (bio)-alkanediol

The present invention relates to compositions, including cosmetic, pharmaceutical or home care compositions, comprising at least one linear 2, 3-alkanediol having a carbon chain of from 5 to 13 carbon atoms. The composition may further include at least one linear 1, 2-alkanediol having a carbon chain of from 5 to 13 carbon atoms. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of the composition of the invention for enhancing the antioxidant effect of antioxidants, for improving the organoleptic properties of liquid lipophilic components, i.e., the skin feel, for sebum control, or for malodor management, or for modulating fragrance, or for modifying fragrance, or for suppressing fragrance, or for topical application, for example, for use in the treatment of skin diseases.
