The method solves the problems of time and labor waste, strong subjectivity and low detection accuracy of manual detection of the rice leaf age at the present stage. According to the method, images of rice in each growth period are obtained based on electronic equipment, image data sets before transplanting and after transplanting are respectively constructed through an image preprocessing technology, a deep learning model is trained by using the corresponding image data sets, and leaf age detection of rice plants is carried out by combining the trained deep learning model with a tip contour method. Compared with a detection method at the present stage, the method has the advantages of high detection speed and high detection accuracy, and the detection process does not need manual participation and is not influenced by human subjectivity.
