Zusammenfassung:The present invention provides a grinding method which does not require a significantly longer time than conventional grinding methods and maximally ensures an effective area that can be used in a product. The method is applied to grinding a disk-shaped workpiece having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface from a second surface side, and includes: a first grinding step of grinding the workpiece by bringing a first grinding tool into contact with the workpiece, and forming a disk-shaped first thin plate portion and a first thick plate portion surrounding the first thin plate portion on the workpiece; and a second grinding step in which a second grinding tool is brought into contact with the first thick plate portion and the first thin plate portion to grind the workpiece, and a circular-plate-shaped second thin plate portion having a diameter larger than that of the first thin plate portion and a second thick plate portion surrounding the second thin plate portion are formed on th
