Zusammenfassung: | An austenitic stainless steel alloy composition having a reduced Ni content is provided. These alloys combined with processes including a martensitic thermomechanical treatment with a thickness reduction, preferably greater than 65%, provide a new generation of advanced high strength steel having a combination of tensile strength and total elongation in the range of 1000 MPa/35-55% to 1350 MPa/25-45%, with good formability and weldability, useful in the manufacture of many products, particularly in the automotive industry.
