Zusammenfassung: | Provided is an organic EL element having high efficiency and high driving stability at a low driving voltage. The organic El element is an organic electroluminescent element characterized by having a plurality of organic layers between an anode and a cathode, and containing a first host selected from indolocarbazole compounds, a second host, and a dopant material in a light-emitting layer. The first host is, for example, an indolocarbazole compound having a substituent containing a nitrogen-containing 6-membered ring such as a triazine ring, and the second host is, for example, an indolocarbazole compound having an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a substituent containing a heterocyclic ring such as a carbazole ring, a dibenzofuran ring or a dibenzothiophene ring.
