The invention discloses a waste heat recovery type seawater desalination system and relates to the field of seawater desalination systems. The system comprises an absorption heat pump unit, a flash tank, n-effect evaporators and a condenser which are sequentially connected, n is a natural number, and the system further comprises n-1 condensate flash tanks matched with the first n-1-effect evaporators. The condensate water at the outlet of each effect evaporator is subjected to flash evaporation with the matched condensate water flash evaporation tank to obtain steam and fresh water, the steam and the steam at the outlet of the current effect evaporator are mixed to serve as a driving heat source of the next effect evaporator, and the fresh water flows into the next effect condensate water flash evaporation tank.
