Zusammenfassung: | The described methods and systems are used for in situ impedance spectroscopy analysis of battery cells in a multi-cell battery pack. In particular, the cell impedance is determined while the battery pack is operating continuously, such as charging or discharging. For example, when the analysis is initiated, performed, and ended, the battery pack voltage/power output remains unchanged. A cell impedance is determined based on a response of the cell to a signal applied to the cell. For example, a current flowing through the cell is charged while monitoring a voltage response of the cell. Although the power output varies during the test, the operation of the battery pack is unaffected due to power compensation provided by one or more other cells in the battery pack, thereby ensuring uninterrupted operation of the battery pack. The in-situ testing is provided by a unique architecture of a battery pack comprising a plurality of nodes and individual node controllers.
