The embodiment of the invention relates to a sensing node, a sensing network, an intelligent building control system and an associated method. The sensing node comprises: a housing adapted to be mounted on a carrier of a building space; an object detection device accommodated in the housing and providing object detection data regarding an object in the sensing area; and a position determination device accommodated in the housing and providing positioning data about the sensing node in the building space; wherein the object detection data is adapted to be combined with the positioning data to provide characterization data, the characterization data providing characterization of the object detection data in the building space.
