A resonator comprising: a first portion of a metal cavity; a first ring extending from a first portion of the metal cavity, where at least a portion of an outer surface of the first support ring is coated with a first metal coating providing an electrical connection to the metal cavity; a second portion of the metal cavity; and a ceramic ring extending from the second portion of the metal cavity.
