An ORFV-SY17 delta ORF120 gene deleted attenuated strain prepared by taking a self-separated ORFV-SY17 wild strain as a female parent is used for immunizing an indigenous animal lamb in a scratch and subcutaneous inoculation mode, the subcutaneous inoculation mode is safe and reliable, and local pox reaction unique to pox viruses such as papule, erythema, vesicles, pustules and scab is not generated at an inoculation part; the ORFV-SY17 delta ORF120 gene deleted attenuated strain can provide 100% immune protection for the contagious pustular dermatitis virus, and is expected to be used as an inoculation way for replacing traditional scratch immunization.
