The invention provides a tank suitable for low-temperature service and a method for building the tank. The tank comprises an inner tank, a thermal insulation body and an airtight outer shell, where the thermal insulation body is arranged outside the inner tank and the outer shell is arranged outside the thermal insulation body, and a coupling through the outer shell, where a vacuum pump outside the tank may be coupled to draw air and gas from a volume between the inner pressure tank and the outer shell, and further comprising an opening from the outside of the tank to the inside of the inner tank for loading and unloading fluid wherein the inner tank in operation contains fluid and the volume between the inner tank and the outer housing is in a vacuum state.
