The invention provides a method for testing the content of precipitated copper in a lithium iron phosphate material, which comprises the following steps: (1) adding lithium iron phosphate to be tested and ammonium chloride into an ammonia water solution, and stirring to generate a complexation reaction; and (2) carrying out suction filtration, diluting filtrate, adding concentrated nitric acid to carry out solution acidification and constant volume, testing the content of copper in the solution obtained after constant volume by adopting an ICP technology, and calculating to obtain the content of copper capable of being separated out in the lithium iron phosphate material.
