Automatic frying system

Systems, devices, and methods relate to automated preparation of food products or consumables, such as for preparing fried food products. An example cooking apparatus may include a processing device for the consumable. In some examples, a robotic arm extending from a movable base is provided. A locator may define a relative position of the movable base relative to a processing device of the cooking apparatus such that the robotic arm is configured to determine that the robotic arm moves to move the consumable in and out of the processing device. In some examples, one or more zones may be used to detect movement in the vicinity of the robotic arm, where in response, one or more restrictions are applied to the robotic arm and/or base movement.
