The present invention is a notification control device for a fishing reel, the notification control device comprising: a rotation change detection unit that detects a rotation change of a reel in a freely rotatable state from a state in which the reel rotates in a first rotation direction as a fishhook descends; a roll-up length measuring unit that measures the roll-up length of the fishing line that is correspondingly rolled up to the spool when the spool is rotated in a second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction in accordance with the roll-up operation after the rotational change is detected by the rotational change detecting unit; a notification unit that notifies each time a predetermined unit roll length is measured by the roll length measuring unit; and a unit roll-up length setting part whic
