The invention discloses a multi-channel heat meter data acquisition unit and a remote meter reading system and method, and the multi-channel heat meter data acquisition unit comprises a main control module, a clock module, a storage module, a communication module which is used for being in communication connection with a remote meter reading server, an M-Bus signal receiving and transmitting module, an M-Bus channel switching module and a plurality of M-Bus interfaces which are used for being in physical butt joint with heat meters supporting an M-Bus protocol, the main control module is used for realizing ultra-low power consumption acquisition, forwarding and uploading of heat meter data through flow links such as timed awakening, active meter reading checking after awakening, channel switching meter reading, active uploading checking after reading and automatic data uploading, so that the problems of difficult power supply and high power consumption of heat meter data reading are solved; the heat meter dat
