The method comprises the following steps: detecting a fentanyl standard sample by using terahertz waves to obtain a fentanyl terahertz intrinsic absorption peak position; transferring a to-be-detected sample to a polytetrafluoroethylene substrate, and shaking to dry the to-be-detected sample; a to-be-detected sample is detected by adopting a terahertz spectrometer device, and the to-be-detected sample is compared with the terahertz intrinsic absorption peak position of a standard sample, so that the to-be-detected sample is identified.
