A computer-implemented method of automatically identifying a reference blood vessel in an ultrasound image, the method comprising: segmenting the image to identify an organ; locating a predetermined anatomical landmark specific to the organ; identifying vasculature suitable for the organ; and selecting, from the vasculature, a reference blood vessel having a size within a predetermined range of dimensions and a location at a predetermined range of distances from the predetermined anatomical landmark. 一种自动识别超声图像中的参考血管的计算机实现的方法，该方法包括：对图像进行分割以识别器官；定位特定于该器官的预定解剖标志；识别适合该器官的脉管系统；以及从该脉管系统中选择尺寸在预定尺寸范围内且位置距所述预定解剖标志预定距离范围的参考血管。
