An illumination device (22) irradiates probe light (L1). The image sensor (24) outputs a compressed image (IMGCOMP obtained by compressing image information relating to an invalid line that does not include the target among a plurality of lines constituting the original image (IMGRAW) obtained from the exposure result. The camera controller (26) controls the light emission timing of the illumination device (22) and the exposure timing of the image sensor (24).
