Zusammenfassung: | A hybrid electric vehicle controlling a power system by more effectively recognizing entry into a low emission region and a power system control method thereof may include: determining entry into a region in which an amount of exhaust gas is required to be reduced by using image-based road sign recognition information; determining an average size of the type of the region in a case where it is determined by the control unit that the entry is made; and controlling the driving mode to be an electric vehicle (EV) mode until it is determined that the vehicle leaves the area based on the average size.
