According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, the provided novel nickel-based catalyst is used for preparing isopropyl benzene through hydrogenation of alpha-methylstyrene, the industrial index requirement is met, and the preparation cost and the production cost of the catalyst are greatly reduced by avoiding the use of palladium noble metal.
