Machine configuration and control system enabling interchangeable power sources

A machine control system controls operation of any of a plurality of interchangeable power sources (33) mounted on a machine (2). The machine comprises a chassis supporting a ground engaging member (4) propelling the machine (2), and a superstructure (6) rotatably supported on the chassis. The superstructure includes a swing frame (22) supporting a cab (24), an interchangeable power source (33), hydraulic and electrical components. The machine control system includes a processor configured to receive variables, control parameters, and criteria associated with operation of each of the plurality of power sources from one or more of a sensor, an input device, an output device, and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor, and to control the operation of each of the plurality of power sources using control logic.
