Zusammenfassung:	The invention discloses a monitoring device and method for measuring river water depth and river bottom sludge thickness, and belongs to the technical field of underwater measurement. The device comprises a top connecting rod, a middle connecting rod, a bottom connecting rod and a penetration head which are sequentially connected from top to bottom, a first winch is installed in the bottom connecting rod, a second winch is installed in the top connecting rod, and the second winch is connected with a driving mechanism. A rope is wound between the first winch and the second winch, the top connecting rod, the middle connecting rod and the bottom connecting rod are provided with induction plate sliding grooves which are through from top to bottom, an induction plate penetrates through the induction plate sliding grooves to be connected with the rope, and a pressure sensor is installed below the induction plate.
