The preparation method comprises the following steps: vertically and uniformly irradiating the PI film in vacuum through a heavy ion accelerator; the irradiated PI film is sensitized through ultraviolet light, the PI film is taken out after sensitization, organic fragments in the PI film are cleaned out, then the PI film is naturally aired, the sub-nano porous PI film is obtained, and straight through holes are formed in the sub-nano porous PI film. The preparation method is simple and practical, the sub-nano porous PI film has a high ion separation ratio, a good separation effect and stable performance, and the application range of the sub-nano porous PI film is widened, and industrial production is facilitated.
