The embodiment of the invention discloses a method and device for generating a video template and electronic equipment. A specific embodiment of the method comprises the steps of obtaining a first type of material elements; complementing the second type of material elements according to the first type of material elements; determining a target editing element based on the first type of material elements and the second type of material elements; and generating a target video template based on the first type of material elements, the second type of material elements and the target editing element.
