METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING UPLINK CONTROL INFORMATION

A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to transmit uplink control information, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK), by using a sequence. The HARQ ACK/NACK may include information of one bit or two bits, and the WTRU may transmit the HARQ ACK/NACK using a cyclic shift of the sequence. The WTRU may transmit different HARQ ACK/NACK values using different cyclic shifts of the sequence, and the cyclic shifts may be separated from each other in a manner to facilitate the transmission.
