The invention relates to a rotary electric machine. According to one embodiment, a rotating electrical machine is provided with: a rotor (16) having a shaft (30) and a rotor core (32); a stator (14) having a stator core (24) and a stator coil (28) arranged around the rotor core; a housing (18) covering the rotor and the stator; a first cooling fan (FA) having a maximum diameter larger than the inner diameter of the stator core, the first cooling fan being provided inside the housing on one axial end side of the rotor core; a second cooling fan (FB) provided inside the housing on the other axial end side of the rotor core and having a maximum diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the stator core; and a ventilation duct (40) having a flow path extending in the axial direction along the outer periphery of the stator core and an exhaust port (44) open to the flow path (CH).
