Charging station occupation reporting method and system

The invention relates to a method for reporting that a charging station (1) is occupied by a parked motor vehicle (2), in which a message (3, 16) is output to a user (4) of the motor vehicle (2) and/or to a device (5, 6) external to the charging station when a trigger condition is satisfied, and in which the message (3, 16) is output to the user (4) of the motor vehicle (2) and/or to a device (5, 6) external to the charging station (1) when or only when an additional condition (10, 19) is satisfied after a sensor device (8, 9) has detected that a parking space (7) associated with the charging station (1) has been occupied.
