When tetrahydromethylpyrimidine carboxylic acid fermentation is carried out, escherichia coli is inoculated to a plate culture medium to obtain activated bacteria, the plate culture medium is inoculated with the obtained activated bacteria, the activated bacteria are transferred to a seed tank for continuous culture, and a seed culture solution is obtained; according to the method, the fermentation process is simple and easy to operate, and the fermentation production process is continuous, so that the quantity of products produced by fermentation of the tetrahydromethylpyrimidine carboxylic acid is increased.
